How are you different?
MoveOn differentiate ourselves from traditional estate agents by providing exceptional customer service, at a price lower than traditional estate agencies; we do this by using technology that aims to empower sellers and buyers and ensure that the process is honest and transparent. We charge no upfront or marketing fees and we operate on a no sale no fee basis. Currently our Dublin customers are saving between €5,000 – €7,000. Yet we still supply; for sale signs, property brochures, advertising on Daft, MyHome, the major UK property portals for extra exposure and we bring the sale right through to completion by dealing with solicitors, the same as any estate agency.
Why will you do well?
Whether traditional estate agencies like it or not, the industry is changing, this has already happened around the world, where online estate agencies are gaining significant market share, the reason for this is mostly due to fees, and with our technology our customers can accept and reject offers, manage viewings and all this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When was the company launched?
We had a soft launch in April 207 to test the business model and iron out any errors in our technology and fully launched in August 2018.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
We have gained significant media attention this far due to our disruptive business model and we were recently named by the Sunday Business Post as “100 Hot Irish Start-ups, however our biggest win to date would be the customers we are signing up, this indicates market validation in Ireland of a proven model in UK (and US); and shows a real want to simplify the property selling process.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
We are trying to attract homeowners and landlords or anyone selling a property, we are trying to change the perception that selling a property must cost you thousands in fees, there is an alternative and we are providing it.
What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
Don’t give up, we have had plenty of doors slammed in our faces and told us certain things wouldn’t work. But here we are now, we have proven that our business model works by listing properties and will build on this success in 2018 and beyond.
Tell us about your team?
David is the CEO of Move On and has 14+ year’s experience in the property market in Ireland, England and Spain. David created Move On after working in the real estate market in London and noticed that companies such as Purple Bricks and eMoov were starting to generate a lot of traction; now, in a few short years eMoov is valued at £40m and Purple Bricks has a projected revenue of £80m for 2018 and a total valuation of just under £1bn.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, we are in a second round of fundraising on Crowdcube. And next for us is to develop the MyMove app that mirrors our backend platform on MoveOn.ie, the reason for this is that currently 80% of our traffic is on mobile so we need to make sure that all our customers have the same great experience, whatever platform they are using Move On on. As well as this, it means that our customers can accept and reject potential offers, edit their adverts and book viewings wherever they are and whatever time of day. As well as this we will be rolling out various advertising and marketing campaigns throughout 2018, we are in partnership discussions with one of Irelands largest banks to partner on some campaigns, like live home viewings etc…
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Right now, it would have to be drones, they allow us to get stunning aerial photography on our customers properties.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
VR for home viewings, we are hoping to do this in future, where potential buyers can view properties from the comfort of their own home or in our office.
